Erection Problems

There are many men who suffer from erection problems. They are quite common in all adult men, with many struggling to get or keep an erection.

There are many cases where the problem goes away with little or no treatment but in other cases, for some men it can be an ongoing problem which greatly affects their lives. If you struggle getting an erection or maintaining one more than 25 per cent of the time, you definitely have an erection problem.

Most erection problems don’t just disappear. If you don’t get the problem looked at, you could damage your self-esteem and ruin your relationship with your partner. Don’t hide; get your problem sorted out as soon as possible.

In the past, erection problems were always thought to be made up with people saying it’s “all in the mind” and if they don't worry about it and just relax, it will take care of itself. This isn’t the case today. Erection problems can be quite serious and we advise you to seek advice from your GP.

Nowadays, doctors believe that physical factors tend to be the main cause of erection problems.

One way to know if your erection problem is caused by a physical factor is whether you have night time erections. Usually, men can have three to five erections per night and each erection can last for up to 30 minutes. Bearing this in mind, having erections in the daytime may mean there’s no physical case for your problem. If you’re concerned about the amount of erections you’re having, visit your doctor .

Another erection problem is reaching orgasm too quickly. This is called premature ejactulation and is not the same as impotence. If you’re struggling with the problem, we advise you get counselling either on your own or with your partner.

Male infertility is also different from impotence. Male infertility is when a man is having difficulty fathering a child due to problems with sperm. Impotence is when a man cannot keep an erection for very long.

To get an erection, it involves the involvement of your brain, nerves, hormones and blood vessels. If anything interrupts any of these stages, it can lead to problems when trying to get an erection.

Common causes of erection problems include:

  • Diseases such as arthritic disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart or thyroid conditions, poor blood flow, depression, or nervous system disorders (such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease) and all Auto-Immune Diseases.
  • Medicines, including blood pressure medications (especially beta-blockers), heart medications (such as digoxin), some peptic ulcer medications, sleeping pills, and antidepressants
  • Nerve damage from prostate surgery
  • Nicotine, alcohol, or cocaine use
  • Poor communication with your partner
  • Repeated feelings of doubt and failure
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Stress, fear, anxiety, or anger
  • Unrealistic sexual expectations, which makes sex a task instead of a pleasure

Erection problems become more common the older you get. Although, they can affect men at any age. Physical causes are more common in older men and emotional causes are more common in younger men.

Having low levels of testosterone can also lead to erection problems. They may reduce a man’s sex drive.

Home Care

For many men, making lifestyle changes can help reduce the likeliness of having erection problems:

  • Cut down on smoking, alcohol, and illegal drug use.
  • Get plenty of rest and take time to relax.
  • Exercise and eat a healthy diet to keep good blood circulation.
  • Use safe sex practises to prevent HIV and STIs.
  • Talk openly to your partner about sex and your relationship. If you cannot do this, counselling can help.

Problems can be caused between couples when they do not talk to each other about sexual intimacy. Most of the time, men have problems with talking about their feelings, making it even more difficult to share any anxiety they may be having about sexual performance. If you’re struggling to find a solution, counselling may be a good option. It can help both you and your partner comes to terms with any problems and find the perfect solution.

How we can help

We are specialists in supplying pills and creams which can help with erection problems. Our penis pills can help increase the size of an erection and the blood flow to the penis making your erection harder and last longer.

When the penis is flaccid it acts the same of all of your other muscles, receiving the same volume of blood flow. When a man gets an erection, blood engulfs the penile arteries, quickly absorbing into the Vavernosa and Spongiosum.

Penis pills help to increase the blood flow to your penis, meaning when you get an erection it’s harder, firmer and even slightly bigger than usual. Penis pills also help with increasing the amount you ejaculate and your semen quality.
